Rooted in Connection

Mahogany Table gathers Black women in spaces where they are not the exception, but the center. Where they are seen in their fullness, held in community, and freed to flourish.

It Started Around a Table

Mahogany Table began around patio tables, where a group of Black women gathered to break bread, share stories, and breathe. There was no agenda, just a shared need for connection, understanding, and space to exhale.

Those conversations revealed a need for intentional spaces where Black women could be seen in their fullness and reconnect beyond their roles and responsibilities.

Today, that spirit lives on through our gatherings, workshops, and the relationships we build together.

Belonging

I can be fully myself here.

Every woman deserves a space where she can show up in her fullness, without minimizing herself, explaining herself, or earning her place at the table.

Rest

I don’t have to earn my right to exhale.

Rest is a birthright. We create opportunities to slow down, listen to ourselves, and develop sustainable rhythms that honor our well-being.

Community

I don’t have to do life alone.

We cultivate relationships that extend beyond an event. Through shared wisdom, resources, and care, we support one another through the different seasons of life.

Joy

My life gets to contain delight, not just responsibility.

We make room to laugh, play, celebrate, experience beauty, and try new things. Joy is a sacred practice that helps us experience our lives more fully.

Freedom

I have the knowledge, tools, and agency to make choices that help me flourish.

Freedom grows through awareness, knowledge, agency, and action. We help women understand the realities that affect their lives, recognize their choices, and take practical steps toward greater freedom. Through shared learning and resources, we become better equipped to advocate for ourselves and make informed decisions.

Free to Be.

Free to Flourish.

Belonging, community, rest, joy, and freedom work together. Connection gives us people to learn from and lean on. Rest creates room to reflect and discern. Joy reminds us what we want to make room for in our lives.

Our gatherings and workshops bring these values into practice, creating opportunities to feel supported, gain practical tools, and take steps toward a life that reflects who we are and what matters to us.

Founded by Latasha Ferguson, Mahogany Table is shaped by a team of women who generously bring their expertise, creativity, and care to this community.

Our collective wisdom guides the experiences we create. Each woman brings gifts and perspectives that help make the table a place of belonging, connection, and possibility.
